Euchre Lobby
The lobby is where you choose a game and sit down to play. Every game on detroit.games starts here. Join an open public seat, create your own table, or jump straight into a solo game against bots.
Ways to Play
- Solo against bots. Start a full game at any time, without waiting for other players. The first solo game can be played in Learning Mode, which explains every decision as you play and lets you ask for a hint on later hands.
- Join a public game. Sit down at an open seat at any public table that is still waiting for players. The game starts as soon as the seats fill.
- Create a public game. Choose your house rules and open the table to other players. If the table does not fill before the start countdown ends, bots take the remaining seats so the game still starts on time.
- Create a private game. Share a direct invite link with friends. The table stays closed to anyone who does not have the link, and bots can still fill empty seats if you want.
Three or Four Players
Standard euchre uses four players in two partnerships. The lobby also supports three-player Cutthroat, where the trump caller plays alone against the other two for each hand. You choose four-player or three-player when you create the table. Both modes use the same 24-card deck and the same bidding structure, so the basics carry over. The strategy adjusts to the player count.
Choose Your House Rules
When you create a game, you decide which house rules apply at the table. The defaults are configured to keep games moving and avoid wasted hands. Common options include Stick the Dealer, which prevents endless redeals by forcing the dealer to name trump when everyone passes, and redeal rules that allow a fresh deal when a hand has no realistic chance to compete. The variations page describes each rule and the strategy implications.
Rejoin in Progress
If you step away during a multiplayer game, a bot takes your seat to keep the hand moving for the other players. When you come back, the lobby shows the game in progress and offers a one-click rejoin. The bot leaves the table when you sit back down and you resume play from the current hand.
Accounts and Privacy
Playing requires a free account. You can sign in with Google, Facebook, or an email address and password. The name and avatar on your account are visible to other players at the same table. No payment information is collected. See the privacy policy for full details on what is stored and how it is used.
The interactive lobby is loading. If it does not appear, JavaScript may be disabled in your browser, or the page is still downloading. While you wait, you can read about how to play euchre or browse house rules and variations.
